Coaching requirements:

  • Coaching Certification:
    • Minimum Level 1 or 2 Swim Coaching Certification (e.g., NROC, ASCA, or equivalent)
  • Competitive Swimming Experience:
    • Background as a competitive swimmer and/or experience coaching competitive squads
  • Coaching Experience:
    • Proven experience working with junior and high-level competitive swimmers
    • Ability to develop and implement training plans tailored to various levels and developmental stages
  • First Aid & CPR Certified (current and valid)
  • Knowledge of Stroke Technique, Training Plans & Periodisation
  • Strong Communication & Leadership Skills
  • Passion for youth development and creating a positive, disciplined training environment

(Bonus):

  • Experience coaching at national or international competitions
  • Familiarity with video analysis tools
  • Proven track record of athlete performance improvement
  • Able to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (e.g., strength coaches, physios)

Commitment Requirements:

  • Part-time coaches: minimum commitment of at least 3 training sessions per week.
  • Full-time coaches: availability from Monday to Friday, plus Saturday mornings.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and during competition periods as needed
